I've made the move to a new account under the name Morumoto. -> Same avatar, same artist, with some new original artwork. I've taken the best of what this gallery currently has as well as a few sketches for my scraps. These deviations have been moved to their new home and will be taken down from this gallery shortly.



My Morumoto account will be my primary DA account that I will handle watching friends' art and journals, and will be where I will post all my new original artwork. I'll still be using this account for guinea pig photos, fanart, and what other random assortment of oddities I come up with. I'll still check it on occasion.

I found the February issue of ShojoBeat, but I still need the January 07 issue! They're piling up and I can't read any of them until I get that one issue! Please help! >_<;

First I'd like to thank you all collectively for your input on getting a new DA account. I've decided to leave my photos, snapshots and random things on this account here while I move my artwork to a new account. I'll leave a link to my new account in the next journal I post.

Secondly, I'm sad to say that Mr. Ponzu died yesterday. I'd have had him for 4 years this November. I knew he woudn't be around much longer, as I'd mentioned in a previous journal he started to show signs of old age recently: grey hairs, losing weight, and his eyes were getting cataracts in them. In the past few days he seemed to be slowing down a bit more, and his breathing was getting lighter and lighter. Finally, yesterday he died peacefully in his pen around 4 pm.

I still don't know exactly how old he was. I'd rescued him from a neighbor who simply grew tired of having a guinea pig. She was either going to give him to someone with a snake or take him to Petco and if they weren't open (which they wouldn't have been at that time of night) she was going to leave him in a box outside the store overnight in the November cold. I'm certain that if I hadn't taken him in, he would have died. I don't feel as badly about his passing because he lived a fuller life than most guinea pigs get, but I'm still so very sad that one of my closest little pets is now gone for good. He was survived by his son Miso and his daughter Pocky, his other son Shoyu passed into eternal slumber barely a month ago.

It seems that many things have come to an end this year, and with endings come new beginnings. Let's hope that these new beginnings are stronger and more fulfilling than those of the past.

I've just been seized with the desire to change DA accounts. I want to associate myself and my artwork with something more orginal. I've been clearing out a lot of my old things and excess baggage from these past years of my life, and physical items are not the only things that can harbor old affiliations. My subscription is about to run out in 5 days, anyways.

I did have a prints account on this account, but I haven't sold one yet and I believe you can still sell prints with the new system they have here on DA.

On one hand, this site is great for getting your artwork out to as many people as possible, so I'd end up losing all the watchers, pageviews, and favorites I've built up.

On the other hand, as an artist I really should be more concerned with showing my art in the best way possible; hoarding favs and pageviews shouldn't be a priority.

What do you all think? Anyone have any suggestions?

I've also taken to putting a watermark on all my artwork because of past incidents with art theft. Instead of that big garish DA watermark, I've created my own logo which I then place strategically so as not to completely obstruct the view of the art. Can anyone tell what the logo is?

Anime Expo was this weekend! I only went on Friday and Saturday, and it was quite fun. I didn't cosplay but I bought a big black wolfy tail so I wore that for most of my time there. I kept an eye out for fellow DeviantArtists, but I only ran into while we were going in opposite directions on a crowded staircase. I walked through the Artists Alley a few times, and did recognize some lovely prints there from DA. I'll have to reserve a table next year.

Yesterday I had the best birthday ever. I got lots of Pokemon gifts, specifically, Pokemon Emerald, Leaf Green, and Fire Red, and the Pokedex Guide. I spent the day with the ones I care most about watching Death Note and playing Pokemon. P was being extra cute, constantly clamoring for attention and climbing on me when I played my game and didn't pet her for longer than 2 minutes. I went out to eat at my favorite restaurant and then I got a surprise cake when I got home!

I was even able to get the pencil drawing for my Shoyu tribute done, some of the finer details had been giving me trouble for a few days. I traced it in ink and now I'm working on refining the outlines.

That's not all, we're also going out of town for a few days. Then there's Anime Expo at the end of the month. Yay for June!

Isn't it sad when people steal artwork? My Naruto/Pokemon got stolen YET AGAIN. I reported it to DA but they haven't done anything yet. They probably have thier hands full with all the other art thieves on this site.

[link] Great job, jackass. I don't suppose they'll be any doubt to your originality when it shows that you posted it 2 days ago and I posted my original drawing in FEBRUARY 2005.

Anyways, I was digging through my old stuff and found the bad guy version of that drawing that I started 2 years ago. It's not quite finished, so I'll probably post it and throw it in scraps. I'm also making good progress on Shoyu's tribute drawing as well. But rest assured, I will not post ANYTHING until I have created a watermark to plaster on it. I don't really like watermarks, especialy the DA one, but it's either that or let all sorts of jackasses take credit for my work.

Next week is my birthday (June 5th).
