Naruto is my favorite cartoon character, Vulpix is my favorite Pokemon. It was only a matter of time before this drawing happened. I originally was going to just draw Naru/Vulpix, but then the other characters started coming together so it all became a bigger project. Then the Full Metal Alchemist game came out, I was helping an anime store move, delays, delays.... Finally got it done and posted it. I think I picked Pokemon that fit the Naruto characters both physically and attitude-wise, well for the most part anyways. Colored pencil.

I made Naruto a Vulpix because I did this drawing when Naruto first started. Back then, everyone was young and inexperienced and Naruto especially did not know what he was capable of. As he is now in Shippunden he'd be a Ninetails.

Sasuke is an Ekans. Why? 'Cause he goes to Orochimaru, who has SNAKES. Ekans in a SNAKE. See the correlation? I probably should have given him hair or something. I realize Charmeleon would also have worked due to his Fire-Breathing Technique.

Choji is a Butterfree because as the series progresses, he has these beautiful chakra butterfly wings that come out in a battle. Yes, I realize he'd make a great Munchlax or Snorlax. Probably a better fit than a Butterfree.

Sakura is a Jigglypuff because they're both pink, have large foreheads, and are rather useless. As she she is now in Shippunden, who knows, maybe she'd make a better Chansy, who has healing capabilities.

Please read the description before asking me the same questions over and over, or telling me that so-and-so would be a better match for so-and-so. I might do another version of this idea some day, with a lot more characters and different match-ups.
